Heart & Cholesterol Studies
The heart is the most amazing organ in the entire body. It begins beating before we are born, and it continues to beat, without stopping, until we die. The heart is a special muscle that can become worn out with time if it is not treated properly. The heart has hundreds of pathways for blood flow, and as these passages become blocked, some parts of the heart may cease to function.
Cholesterol is the contributing factor to a faulty heart, along with the fat and excess tissue associated with being obese, the heart also suffers from these restrictive conditions. Many overweight individuals tend to be at a higher risk for heart disease due to unhealthy diets that are high in saturated fats and cholesterol. Healthy and unhealthy individuals are needed to participate in clinical studies involving the heart and vascular health.
